A Hooded Plover census will take place on the weekend of 13/14 November. The last Hooded Plover census was in 2008, and required people to walk along a stretch of beach and count the Hooded Plovers, noting bands etc. More information about the upcoming census will be published as soon as it is available.

The Hooded Plovers in the fenced refuge at the tip of Point Roadknight are nesting, and have three eggs. Activity
updates and advisory signs have been installed in the carpark at the site. The pair to the west of the point do not seem to
have nested, but are showing signs of breeding activity. A team of volunteers monitor the birds, and will be visiting the
site for a total of five days per week. Any additional volunteer monitors would be most welcome.
