If anyone has an iPad they can donate, it would be very welcome.
As mentioned in our June report, ANGAIR intends to upgrade and consolidate its digital database and it will require new software, hardware and many hours of data conversion/inputting using new sets of skills. If any members feel they can help us move down the digital road please contact ANGAIR.
We are aiming for a securely held, comprehensive file of information, including photos, that could be searched using key words, dates, subjects and GPS locations. This would be a valuable tool for our task of protecting and promoting the natural values of the Surf Coast and hinterland.
Moolap: With the closure of the aluminium smelter and rolling mill at Pt Henry and the former salt works no longer operating, the community and the government have an opportunity to work together and explore the possibilities for Moolap's future. The State Government is preparing a draft Moolap Plan for the study area including any potential land use changes over the long term. A community survey has identified strong interest in environmental and conservation opportunities. Feedback will inform the preparation of the draft Moolap Plan.
