The AGM was well attended and Ros Gibson gave an excellent talk on the history of Angair, concentrating on pivotal events that led to positive conservation outcomes and indicated the key members involved.
The Management Committee is as follows: Peter Forster President; Sally White Vice President; David Williams Secretary; Conrad White Treasurer; and Committee members Christine Williams, Christine Forster, Bill Clarke, Ros Gibson, Helen Tutt, Ellinor Campbell, Wendy Crebbin, Neil Tucker and Roger Ganly.
The new propagation facility in the Anglesea Community Precinct is now fully operational with two sessions per week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Members who are interested in learning plant identification and propagation techniques are welcome to attend.
For those Angair members in Melbourne, Angair propagation group is supporting Heather Hesterman’s art installation opening April 27th at the Red Gallery, North Fitzroy. Part of the project is a native revegetation project at the Merri station –check the ABC media link.”

Angair remembers…
Netta Leslie
Angair members were saddened to learn of the death of Netta Leslie at age 89.
Netta and her husband Ian joined Angair in 1985, initially with the desire to learn more about the local environment. Netta marvelled at the beauty of the coastal heathland, which she described as ‘Nature’s Garden’ and a ‘wonderland’.
They soon became very involved in many Angair activities, and until 2005 took charge of the coordination of the Angair subgroup Friends of Aireys Inlet Coastal Reserve. Netta generally planned and supervised the regular monthly weed removal work, gradually achieving the restoration of the indigenous vegetation that had been smothered by weeds after the 1983 fires. Working bees were always followed by a scrumptious morning tea that Netta prepared. She was also an invaluable team member in the preparation of the garden flower displays at the Angair Wildflower Show for many years.
In 2009 Netta was elected an Honorary Life Member of Angair ‘for her work over many years in caring for the members of Angair and for the conservation and protection of flora and fauna in the Anglesea and Aireys Inlet region’.
She will be sadly missed.
