Angair’s long and productive association with the Anglesea Primary School continues this year with a planting and propagation day on 19 May.

Pupils will plant seedlings produced by Angair that will help  fill gaps throughout the school garden except in the front section because of fire risks. Angair will also provide the equipment but the school will provide the parents to help with the task.

The principal of APS, Ross Dullard, is keen to have each child in the school propagate a plant, care for it during the year and take it home in December. A new species will be grown each year to make a living diary of a child’s schooldays.

The plant chosen for this year is Hop Goodenia, Goodenia ovata. Cuttings will be taken from existing Goodenia plants at the school and the pupils will be introduced to one of the main ways plants are propagated.
