Angair walk: Yan wirring mirr Loop Walk
Meet at the start of Yan wirring mirr Loop, Boundary Rd, Bald Hills, Anglesea. (Opposite the walking track to the Bundjil Lookout)
Be prepared for a forever changing botanical feast as we cross the open heathland, descend into the swampy woodland before enjoying the heathland once again as we complete this ecologically diverse loop track. Less commonly known species including Curly Wig, a yellow form of Common Flat-pea, Shining Peppermint, Gold-dust Wattle, Twisted Beard-heath, Pouched Coral-fern and Swamp Selaginella will be the highlights.
Along with the vegetation, the variety of bird and frog calls heard along this track will also delight, as will the opportunity to see Bundjil soaring the thermals.
The 4.5km track (approx. 3hrs) requires a moderate level of fitness with short, undulating hills across uneven terrain. Walking poles may be useful. Remember sun protection, water, a snack and insect repellant.
