Friends of Point Addis Marine National Park Sea Search
If you want to find out more about the marine wonders that inhabit the Point Addis reef, you can take part in the next Sea Search event in early April. A Parks Victoria program, Sea Search enables volunteers to count key marine species in quadrants spread between the low and high tide boundaries. These censuses are important indicators of the health of reefs.
The Friends of Point Addis Marine National Park have been involved in the program for well over 10 years, regularly monitoring the Point Addis Pixie Cove Reef and intermittently working at Aireys Inlet’s Eagle Rock.
The April reef count is on Tuesday 8 April and will start at midday and take about two hours, depending on volunteer numbers and weather conditions.
