Ironbark Basin Walk
Angair Walk, Sunday 22 June
This is a great time to visit this area as the Ironbarks, Eucalyptus tricarpa, are usually in flower with the honeyeaters in attendance. The wattles are also starting to make a show and of course there are the various forms of correas. Underneath it all is the vast array of mosses and maybe the odd winter orchid or two.
The walk will go down the track nearest the car park to where the track comes to the ocean and turns right and then a short detour to a view across to Point Addis before returning to the base of the basin to follow the nature trail back to the car park. The distance of about 3.5 km has some ups and downs on at times an eroded track requiring good footwear.
Meet at the Ironbark carpark on Point Addis Road at 9.30 am.
