Goodbye winter and the dainty small blue pea flowers on the small shrubs of Common Hovea, Hovea heterophylla.
Hello spring and plants of all colours.
There are white ones. A close look will reveal that the small lily Early Nancy, Wurmbea dioica subs.dioica, and the prolific climber Small-leaved Clematis, Clematis microphylla, have separate male and female plants.
Our two main Beard-heaths, Coast Beard-heath, Leucopogon parviflorus, and the smaller Common Beard-heath, L. virgatus var.virgatus, have clusters of small white flowers with unusual fluffy petals.
…and red ones such as the eye-catching bright pea flowers on the prostrate Running Postman, Kennedia prostrata,
… and pink ones like the delightful dangling Pink Bells, Tetratheca ciliata,
… or blue ones such as the tiny beautiful, pea-like flowers on the leafless Love Creeper, Comesperma volubile All these, and so much more.
