Small Mosquito Orchid, Acianthus pusillus, with its insect-like flowers and heart-shaped leaves are starting to flower now.

The colonies of green leaves, purple underneath, are easier to find first. To enjoy the detail on these dainty orchids, take a photo and enlarge it, or use a magnifying glass. They have between four to 12 almost translucent pink to greenish flowers. The leaf is held a few centimetres above the ground.
