The latest in Angair’s self-guided walk guides – the Point Addis Rock Pool Walk – is now online. The guide contains 14 pages of tips and images of the marine flora and fauna you might see in the pools. Find it on https://angairnatureshow.org.
The guide contains vital safety tips because the walk can only be taken at low tide. It also warns never to stay close to the cliff faces as they are susceptible to slippage. Just how susceptible can be seen at the other end of Addiscot Beach from the walk area. There was a major cliff collapse on Thursday 14 August, believed to have been triggered by the earthquake on the Mornington Peninsula that day. The area has been cordoned off. But remember that the coastal cliffs of the Surf Coast are fragile and it is never safe to sit near or walk close to them.
