Elections for office bearers and Committee of Management members at the Annual General Meeting on 27 February saw the return of president, Elizabeth Fenwick, vice-president Rob Shepherd, secretary Meredith Sussex and long-term treasurer Conrad White.
The Committee of Management sees one new face, Ken Mackey, who joins Bill Clarke, Lecki Ord, and David Walmsley.
During the year, two committee members retired: long-standing member Ellinor Campbell and former Victorian public servant Ashley Clearihan. Ellinor will continue to be the leader of the Education Committee and knowledgeable contributor to Angair publications. Two other members, Roger Ganly and Sally White, who between them have given a number of years to the committee, did not seek re-election.
President Fenwick noted that there were some vacancies on the committee which could be filled by appointment. She urged members to step forward and take up the many tasks that volunteers fulfil for Angair. ‘Our volunteers consistently tell us that taking an active role in protecting the unique Surf Coast landscapes they love brings a deep sense of purpose and fulfilment. Just as importantly, it connects them with a passionate, knowledgeable and welcoming community’, she said.
