The Allen Noble Sanctuary provides an important habitat for a large number of water and bush birds. It has been extensively redesigned and replanted in recent years, and showcases numerous indigenous plants which, as well as improving the biodiversity and visual impact, provide a useful educational tool for local residents and tourists.
The FANS have just conducted a survey to collect information about visiting patterns at the Allen Noble Sanctuary and community views about its future. You can read the results of the survey here. An article about the history of the Sanctuary and the survey is published in the December 2024 AIDA newsletter. You can read this article here.
