The Painkalac Valley Network is currently liaising with public land managers and private residents to implement a program to reduce fox numbers in the dunes and along the creek. Foxes are putting pressure on the valley’s indigenous small mammals and birds.

The Network is a coalition of community groups that meet regularly to collaborate and advocate for issues related to the Painkalac estuary and its valley environs. Its vision is to revive and maintain the Painkalac as a thriving interconnected community and ecosystem area from source to ocean.
The Network recently affiliated with Angair which auspiced a grant that will fund events in the coming spring to raise awareness of the ecological and recreational qualities of the area.
