If you missed seeing the glorious butterflies that were the stars of John Lenagan’s February Angair Talk on Trekking in West Papua, you are in luck.
The video of the talk is now available in the Learn theme on the Angair Nature Show website.
John’s four-week butterfly quest in Sulawesi and West Papua was in December 2022. It yielded 1128 species of insect, 618 of which were butterflies. It also involved lots of mud, sweat, humidity and learning to respect machete-carrying locals.
The bonus of looking at the Nature Show video is the ability to slow down and stop the image to look closely at the extraordinarily beautiful butterflies. They are really worth a second – or third – look.
